Thank You to All Genesis Press Employees, Customers, Partners and Friends

Thank you, thank you and thank you — I do not want to sound like a broken record, but thank you again.

It is amazing and phenomenal how far Genesis Press has come since being hit by arsonists on March 29, 2008.  Even better is how far we are going to go!  I know we are capable of an awful lot but what we have accomplished is simply unbelievable: We have not only begun full time operations more than a week ago but we have not missed a single critical deadline!  We may have needed and extra day or two here and there, but all critical, time sensitive jobs were delivered on time or early!!!!  Kudos to everyone who helped make this happen including our partners and friends. As you read this, you may think this was an easy task, but I promise you it was not. I have been in printing all my life and while I have witnessed some pretty incredible feats, I have never been part of a more expansive collaborative effort than right now.

To the arsonists who tried to take us down: It isn’t going to work.  Our recovery is still in progress but nothing short of miraculous.  We have a long road to travel, but you should see how far we have come already.  Without a doubt, we still have issues to overcome but they are nothing we can’t handle.  In fact, pretty soon I will be thanking you for helping Genesis Press achieve what I thought would take another year to create — one of the friendliest, tightest shops I have ever had the privilege to be a part of, and I have had very tight shops before.  It is something I have always taken pride in.  So, I want to take this opportunity to thank you and invite you over for a short visit.  There are a lot of people here who would like to thank you as well in their own special way! 

Seriously, we at Genesis Press know that the police and the judicial system will take care of this to the best of their ability. We have no more time for anger. Everyone at Genesis is concerned about our present and future.  If we live in the past, we will have no future.  Everyone here knows that.  Everyone here is in the game.

An Open letter to All Genesis Press Employees, Customers, Vendors and Friends

As most of you already know, on March 29, 2008, Genesis Press was hit by an arsonist and we were pretty badly damaged. However, what we have done — with the help of all of you — is so remarkable, it bears mention, thanks and praise for all concerned.

I made everyone a promise that quite honestly, I wasn't sure I could keep – that we would be back, better and stronger than ever. Well, it seems to me that we are well on the path to recovery and I had very little to do with it.

I am ecstatic to report that as of Tuesday April 8, 2008 — 10 days after the arsonists struck – Genesis Press is back in business. There are some problems we are still in the process of resolving, but if we have come this far already, there is not much to prevent us from going the distance.

If I mentioned everyone's name that helped us — from our employees to our vendors and our customers — I would still be typing this letter as you are reading it. I would however like to mention a few outstanding people and companies — first, our employees — WOW in a nutshell. You are amazing. To Standard Register, Mac Paper and IKON Communications — you are equally amazing. And to everyone else from the printing community to the Greenville community — and you know who you are — simply incredible. The thoughts, assistance, lunches, emails, sympathy... the list goes on and on and on. WOW!
